Law firm Orrick agrees to $8 mln settlement over breach of client data [Guest Post]
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, a U.S. law firm, has reached an $8 million settlement to resolve class action claims stemming from a data breach affecting some of its clients’ personal information. Filed in San Francisco federal court, the proposed settlement addresses allegations that hackers obtained names, addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers of over 600,000 individuals from files held by Orrick. The breach was detected by Orrick in March 2023.
