OVERVIEW

This presentation will provide an overview of the current state of AI. Explanation of the AI landscape including capabilities, legal offerings dangers and problems, and where AI is likely headed in the next 6-12 months.

PRESENTER:

Josh Kubicki is the immediate past director of the University of Richmond School of Law’s Legal Innovation and Entrepreneurship program and was an Assistant Professor of Law. He researches, teaches, and speaks at the intersection of innovation, the practice of law, and the business of law. Over the last 20 years, Josh has merged his experience in fields of design, management science, and strategy execution to build services and products for business and legal teams large and small. He is a former Chief Strategy Officer for an AmLaw 100 law firm, worked in Verizon’s general counsel office, and has served as an adviser to CEOs of leading alternative legal service providers and legal startups. Mr. Kubicki received his B.A. with honors in Political Science and minor in Sociology from Niagara University and his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University. He maintains his active license in DC. Josh is joining the faculty at Mauer School of Law, Indiana University on July 1st as a Visiting Lecturer teaching law students and building out their first executive education business. His Fall semester class is the pragmatic use of generative AI and it is booked over capacity.
