FAKE EMAILS PURPORT TO BE FROM THE BAR’S LAWYER REGULATION STAFF

The Florida Bar will not send any notices of complaints filed via email

Beware, another email scam is making the rounds.

This time it’s fraudulent emails from spoofed email accounts designed to look like they are from The Florida Bar.

The contents of the email say a complaint has been filed against the member and direct the lawyer to open an attachment or click on a link.

Don’t do it. These emails are not from The Florida Bar and if you receive such an email, the best course of action is to immediately delete it. Never open attachments from unknown senders. The Florida Bar will not send any notices of complaints filed via email.

Lawyers are always advised to keep their guard up as scammers become increasingly clever in their quest to do harm.
